:: WELCOME ::

i felt compelled to create this blog with the thought of all those who have helped me as i continue my journey of cake decorating. if not for those creative minds who were brave enough to put themselves out there i would not have learned so many wonderful things or been as inspired as i am. i am just starting on my path to greatness! (ha ha!) i hope to document my progress through this blog. give out tips i have learned. make more connections with the decorating world. and perhaps someday give someone a little inspiration myself. so welcome and thank you for stopping by!

2009 - Feeding Frenzy

Little Punzie over the past four years has kept me on my toes for cakes. Especially with this one. A shark cake. She loved the sharks in Finding Nemo. So I put Sweet Knees to work cutting out shark silhouettes from fondant while I frosted the cake and cupcakes. Together we molded the shark fins for the cupcakes. And for some really odd reason the cupcake frosting got this shininess to it - I think it looks more like water that the cake, I just wish I knew how it happened so I could replicate it!

I went through a website and had the picture on the top printed on edible paper. It was fairly inexpensive and they did an amazing job! Punzie loved it so much! I am glad. That is the best part about making cakes, seeing the reaction of the person receiving it!
