i felt compelled to create this blog with the thought of all those who have helped me as i continue my journey of cake decorating. if not for those creative minds who were brave enough to put themselves out there i would not have learned so many wonderful things or been as inspired as i am. i am just starting on my path to greatness! 2009 - Heinz 57

My sister in law's sister in law (got that?) was having a birthday! She loves her some Heinz 57 sauce - a girl after my own heart! My steak must have this delectable sauce. Did you know that the Heinz company has been around since 1869? And that Heinz 57 debuted in 1911 as a Beefsteak Sauce, “a table sauce which gives zest to all kinds of hot or cold meats, game, rarebits, etc., also for fish and other sea foods. 25 cents.”

I took a few minutes and perused the Heinz 57 site, pretty fun information, and some neat old labels and commercials!

Anyway - here is the Heinz 57 bottle cake, we took extra care to get that color juuuuust right! It was pretty tough believe it or not!


At the time I worked at a bakery and had access to a edible image printer - wish I had the money for one of those! The labels turned out great - I love the shine on the big one!
