:: WELCOME ::

i felt compelled to create this blog with the thought of all those who have helped me as i continue my journey of cake decorating. if not for those creative minds who were brave enough to put themselves out there i would not have learned so many wonderful things or been as inspired as i am. i am just starting on my path to greatness! (ha ha!) i hope to document my progress through this blog. give out tips i have learned. make more connections with the decorating world. and perhaps someday give someone a little inspiration myself. so welcome and thank you for stopping by!

2008 - Under the Sea

I saw a Tinkerbell cake in a Wilton decorating book that
used this same wire technique!
I have been seeing it pop up everywhere,
I think it is so fun and so versitile.

This was my first Ariel Under the Sea Cake; it was for my little Punzie.
I tried a few different under the sea creatures this time.

Some I liked and others - like the pink boobie ones above -
did not turn out so great!
It is hard to travel with such heavy cakes over a long distance -
I balance these babies on my lap. I trust no one else to hold them.
Sweet Knees is always offering, but if that puppy is goin' down
I want to be the cause no one else!

So there were a few cracks in the frosting from
traveling but nothing major.
I really liked how this cake turned out.
And my sweet little Punzie liked it so that is all that matters!
